Have also made a little postcard of photos of a flower garden someone had sponsored in memory of their mother, and included her graduation photo along with the garden. 00:20:36 Cheri Sullivan (she, her, hers): We also create branded Zoom backgrounds for our different campaigns and share with our constituents. 00:20:46 Charlotte Fedders: Aimee — we love the career moves idea too. Would love to connect on this idea in one of our strategy sessions at Thankview! 00:20:52 Mike Nagel: @Sarah - that’s amazing 00:21:34 Aimee Furrie (University of Wisconsin Foundation): We send pink flamingos to donors to our fall giving day, Fill the Hill, commemorating a historical UW-Madison tradition. #IYKYK 00:21:46 Aimee Furrie (University of Wisconsin Foundation): @Charlotte, yes! That sounds fantastic. 00:21:53 Cheri Sullivan (she, her, hers): Our outreach with Career Moves resulted in 9 meetings from alumni who we had not connected with us before. 00:22:05 Anda!: Hi All! - Anda from IgnitePOST here! If you curious how to gather more donations and repeat donations through handwritten notes? Email me here! anda@ignitepost.com 💚 00:22:05 Mike Nagel: +1 to that @cheri 00:22:32 Cheri Sullivan (she, her, hers): We have our students write personal thank you postcards to our smaller annual donors. Works great! 00:24:04 Tara Telfair: Like the facebook integration! are you going to add Instagram or twitter soon to reach younger audiences? 00:24:21 Mike Nagel: Stay tuned for Q&A 00:24:31 Laura Byl: great presentation!! 00:25:00 Steph Ulmer: How expensive is it to send cool swag? 00:25:06 Aimee Furrie (University of Wisconsin Foundation): 🤘 00:25:06 Jeffery Hahn: 👍 00:25:09 Amanda Wood: 👍🏻 00:25:10 Emily Wilhelm: 👍 00:25:14 Anda!: 👍 00:25:15 Kristine Petroshius: 👍🏻 00:25:16 Jamie Daniel: I enjoyed the format - thank you for the summary slide, lol... Thnks! 00:29:09 Jamie Daniel: I loved the Job Promotion congrats video idea - a great way to personalize and connect! 00:29:30 Caroline Bolton: I'd love to know what people are sending as a welcome package for a first time donor or swag? 00:30:01 Kyle Vaughn: I think the socks was just over $9 00:30:12 Kyle Vaughn: at least for us at AU 00:31:10 Kyle Vaughn: Those socks cannot be found anywhere on campus, they are one of a kind and you can only get them if we send them out of our office 00:32:54 Heather Kopec: Chewy!! They make the pet owner experience so great and personalized! 00:32:56 Whitney Bailey (she/her): Chewy.com sent me a personalized small canvas painting of my dog based on the photo that I uploaded to the app with a handwritten note of thanks for being a customer. 00:33:17 Heather Kopec: @Whitney 🤘 00:34:03 Aimee Furrie (University of Wisconsin Foundation): *Adds Chewy to my list to check out* 00:34:45 Tracey Perkins- Proctor: Road ID bracelets - lots of personalized marketing and storytelling. When you get your product there is a whole story about its journey getting to you. https://www.roadid.com/ 00:35:55 Aimee Furrie (University of Wisconsin Foundation): I love when companies celebrate my purchase/loyalty. And, when companies "get to know" me and provide a very personal experience. Stitch Fix does an excellent job of this, and I get to the point where my shopper starts to feel like my friend who just...knows me. 00:37:24 Jamie Daniel: Ditto on the Stitch Fix - I LOVE that service and I 100% feel like my stylist knows me, even when I get a new one 00:37:53 Emily Cardinas: How would you address colleagues and bosses who think talking to alumni one-to-one is less efficient? They spent a lot of time building up "efficient and automatic" processes for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship? 00:41:15 Kyle Vaughn: Email is working the best where they have the option to book time. 00:41:17 Diedra Harkenrider: combination outreach 00:41:18 Steph Ulmer: depends on prospect relationship 00:41:57 Shawn Goodspeed (he/him/his): Email for booking meetings. I've found it hard to cold call someone then schedule a zoom or other meeting. They'll often say "let's just talk now" and sometimes rush through it. 00:42:36 Shawn Goodspeed (he/him/his): Agree with texting though! If they initiate or agree to texting as an option, that has been the most effective. 00:42:39 Aimee Furrie (University of Wisconsin Foundation): Thoughts on addressing people by name in video/emails? Historically, we'd address both members of a household (specifically, in donor relations work) in direct mail. Now, with digital comms, most people have personal email accounts. I'm interested in input on how to ensure personalization without inadvertently limiting based on individual email accounts. 00:43:27 Michael Maley: Definitely a combo, but calls have worked for me because people have told me they saw the area code of their alma mater pop up and they were curious 00:46:48 Emily Cardinas: So helpful, thank you! 00:47:46 Kyle Vaughn: The classic, I will also follow up with an email in the voicemail seems to work, I often see that the email is opened after that! 00:47:48 Natalee Martin, Seacoast Science Center: my donors are of the older generation that has REALLY responded to my handwritten notes! 00:48:24 Anda!: We work with a lot of non-profits that use handwritten cards to gather more donations and repeat donations! We can even integrate into your CRM or marketing automation solution - so it takes the hard work off your plate. 00:48:36 Kyle Vaughn: I have a handwritten note when we do not have good contact info with a QR to my calendar to book time as well. 00:49:04 Devin Ferguson: Kyle - has the QR produced meetings that way? Love this idea. 00:49:22 Anda!: Kyle - I do the same! 00:49:54 Kyle Vaughn: I have not yet but I was going to mail a letter anyways so I thought, "why not!?" 00:50:40 Devin Ferguson: Saw this the other day: “Greatest Pandemic Glow-Up? The QR code.” 00:51:32 Aimee Furrie (University of Wisconsin Foundation): Thank you for touching on this household concept - I tend to lean toward more stewardship the merrier! Data integrity is so important for this idea of radical personalization. 00:51:54 Kyle Vaughn: I had to scan one the other day at a restaurant to see the beer list! 🤣 00:52:52 Aimee Furrie (University of Wisconsin Foundation): Of course! 00:52:59 Anda!: Our clients use them to book meetings, and daily donations 00:53:08 Tiffany Purnell: QR codes to complete health questionnaire for in-person events 00:53:14 Jessica Cepeda, NYU Stern (she/her/hers): Pre-pandemic, we used it on campus for our giving day - students could scan to get to the donation page, 00:53:15 Lori Rassati: Trying a QR code to give at an event next week; we'll see how it goes 00:53:18 Devin Ferguson: I got a direct mail appeal from another institution that I “shop” today, and it includes QR codes. One to a student video and one to give online 00:53:45 Aimee Furrie (University of Wisconsin Foundation): Thanks, all, for your ideas! Are donors/alumni utilizing the QR codes well? 00:53:45 Devin Ferguson: “Scan to meet *student name* here” 00:54:18 Aimee Furrie (University of Wisconsin Foundation): Devin, that's an awesome idea! Thanks for sharing. 00:54:43 Devin Ferguson: All credit to my friends at K-State on that one 00:55:03 Tiffany Purnell: That's so true Mike! We had paper forms as backups! 00:55:06 Krissy Raposa (she/her): We used them on postcards to confirm communication preferences. Would like to explore them for alum benefits like access to the library since they don't have ID/campus access cards. 00:55:55 Kyle Vaughn: the fact you had a camera camera right there was incredible! 01:00:43 Christina Chalmers (she/her): Thank you everyone for joining! 01:00:55 Tiffany Purnell: Thank you for having this! 01:01:06 Kyle Vaughn: Good stuff as always! 01:01:11 Krissy Raposa (she/her): Thank you for this! 01:01:29 Aimee Furrie (University of Wisconsin Foundation): Love this. Always a pleasure to be in conversation with you all. Thanks for a great session! 01:02:33 Melissa Amanda Vaillancourt: Thank you Molly & Mike! 01:02:35 Diedra Harkenrider: THANKS! 01:02:38 Devin Ferguson: Nice work Molly and Mike 01:02:40 Kathryn Boyden: Thank you!! 01:02:44 Natalee Martin, Seacoast Science Center: this was great! 01:02:47 Kathleen OBoyle: Thank you! Always informative and entertaining. 01:02:50 Diedra Harkenrider: Eggs from my chickens 01:02:51 Michael Maley: Thanks, team! Well done! 01:02:54 Whitney Bailey (she/her): Thanks, all!
